How Well are Your Finances Weathering the 2020-21 Covid-19 Storm? Notice about COVID-19: We are still open (virtually, and via phone & email). We are also handling some limited on-site projects for emergency scenarios (mostly network connectivity with financial software). We are currently also making some appointments to meet with clients as needed for tax return signatures and document exchanges as needed. Our office has been vigourously working with multiple clients to transition to a paperless environment wherever possible, since the restrictions of the stay-at-home order have been lifting. We are now working with clients to update their existing workspaces to accomodate the multi-state scenarios of possible further or reinstatement of the “stay-at-home” orders from various governors and mayors since the steady increase of the spread of this horrible pandemic. We are working with many clients to update their systems to handle remote accessibility for both their employees and their clients as quickly and as safely as possible, keeping in mind the priority scenarios require essential businesses to continue working as normal as possible during this situation. Despite the obvious chaos of the global pandemic, we’re on track preparing for the upcoming 2020 fiscal year tax season continuing through the extended season and through the end of May 2021. We will be sending out updated engagement packets, organizers, and document requests to all of our clients in the early part of June 2021. We are also setting up some new protocols for this year’s document upload software and client database portal access. We will notify clients of their respective changes accordingly. The 2020 tax season software was recently updated, as there were many updates still pending from both federal and state tax agencies relating to the unemployment and stimulus reconciliation worksheets. In the meantime, we are continuing current projects and appointments for virtual and phone conferences with clients to complete the preparation of current and any prior-year tax returns. We do have the capability of remotely installing software and updating computers and networks as long as the host computers have access to the internet. We are working with clients to adhere to CDC requirements for social distancing, along with helping clients keep their essential business activities online. If you have any questions, please call our office to see what we can do to assist. Any tax-related information and resources will be added to the resources page, including information related to the stimulus packages and any business loan options from regarding the newest PPP round of loans just approved by the federal administration in the last week of December, 2020. This information will be added to the resources page soon.
